For the most part, 3D printers certainly fall into the category cool but expensive. This is true even if you look at Amazon. There, most models cost $400 or more.
But what if you could get a full-fledged 3D printer for around $140?
Surprisingly, this is really possible as usual, of course, only from Asia and if you yourself lends a hand but that may be worthwhile.
In the following a review report to the Alfawise EX8 3D printer for $140! So, let’s see the main specs of EX8.

Alfawise EX8: First Impressions
As already mentioned you get this printer only from Asia. Although there is a very similar model on Amazon, this costs more than $500.
Do not be surprised, the package is quite big and quite heavy (the biggest thing I ever got from Asia).
Of course, the price also has a little hacking, you have to assemble the 3D printer yourself.
The first moment I saw all the pieces, I thought “oh dear”. You really have the whole table full of things that you can not quite assign.
What will have a China 3D printer for a guide? Absolutely none of the enclosed.
It is merely a note included which informs that you should watch Youtube video.
I will not describe in detail here what you have to do, look at the best videos.
Please forgive the somewhat “messy” pictures, which I have done during construction during the construction.
Surprisingly, however, the video tutorial is pretty well done. It is shown in great detail and high quality what to do.
In addition, all screws, as well as the motors and cables, are labeled. By the way, I watched the video bit by bit and the setup was relatively easy.
The manufacturer even includes screwdrivers (two pieces), a side cutter as well as various cable ties and several wrenches with.
You do NOT need any tools except a ruler. All you need is there.
Amazingly, there is even too much. I had a lot of screws left at the end (yes, the printer was working at this point and I did not forget anything).
Exemplary from the manufacturer!
Only at one point in the video apparently, two connectors are swapped (temperature sensors), here you have to orientate something on the graph, which seems to be correct.
Still, I had surprisingly little assembly problems. Finally, I would classify this as easy to moderate.
Thanks to the video, there are not many things that you can do wrong, and in the end, it really feels great when everything works.
Alfawise EX8: Setup and First Use
What happens after assembly? Of course, you have to calibrate the printer a little bit, thanks to video instructions are also quite easy.
After that, you will probably find out as well as I, that yes no printed material is included.
I simply reordered the appropriate filament quickly with Amazon.
Look for “3D printer filament” and you will find a lot. I bought the spool for the printer, 1 kg, 1.75 mm, pure white”, which also works fine with the printer.
For inserting the filament, there is again a video manual from the manufacturer. To do this, preheat the printer and insert the PLA filament.
The manufacturer will provide you with a microSD memory card in the scope of delivery on which the appropriate software for the printer.
Unfortunately, the manufacturer only partially documented which settings work well. The maximum printing area is 220 x 220 x 240mm.
Other settings you can take from my screenshots, these have worked quite useful for me.
However, especially at print speed and line width, you can certainly fine-tune something.
You can either connect the printer directly to the PC or simply push the projects onto the microSD memory card and insert them into the printer.
Incidentally, I would recommend the adhesive tape on the pressure plate or to make new on it. This helps to later remove the figures. Just make sure that this is also good flat on the plate, the heat tends to dissolve at the edges.
Alfawise EX8: Printing
There are the clearly higher quality of Alfawise EX8 in the test and faster 3D printers on the market.
However, the quality from my point of view is perfectly OK, especially if you rework something at the end.
All you have to do is expect that bigger characters will last forever. Eternal can be 10 hours or more, depending on the size and mass of the figure.
Errors or uncleanliness can happen but are quite rare. Here, the Alfawise EX8 3D printer does a surprisingly good job. Whereby this depends a bit on the filament.
The one recommended by me from BQ is e.g. pretty good while a black “Made in Germany” filament did not work well with this printer and gave significantly worse results.
The pressure level is what you expect it to work up to four motors and two fans. Accordingly, the Alfawise EX8 3D printer in our analisis is not “silent”, so I would not put it on my bed.
However, you can keep it in the same room without any problems and no later than once a wall between one and the printer, you can not hear him.
Alfawise EX8: Conclusions and Reviews
I am completely satisfied with the 3D printer. Sure, there is a prettier and better 3D printer but for $140 you will not get something like that elsewhere, let alone something better.
This is not a toy, but a really complete device with all the trimmings.
The setup may be a bit daunting at first, but thanks to the video tutorials, it goes quite well. I just believe in you.
The print results are pretty neat so far, judges these best on the basis of my pictures themselves.
In my view, the Alfawise EX8 3D printer is a great device, just to get a taste of what a 3D printer can do.
It’s also a great feeling to have built a working printer out of this mountain of parts, and I’ve probably wasted a few hours just watching the printer print.
Alfawise EX8: Price and Where to buy cheaper?
As for the price? As I mentioned above, now you can buy an Alfawise EX8 3D printer at a good price for only $ 139.99 at a 17% OFF discount.
Importantly, if you order this Alfawise EX8 3D printer from Asia, please do so at a dealer offering a duty-free shipping, such as Gearbest.
